Tam Thanh village
Located in Trung Thanh hamlet, Tam Thanh commune, Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province, Tam Thanh village once was a poor fishing village lying near Tam Thanh beach. The space in Tam Thanh is extremely peaceful with the rich nature that is protected by local people. It can be said that the village is favored by nature that one side of the village is adjacent to the beach and the other side faces Truong Giang river. The sand here is soft and white because it is unexploited much, attracting Tam Ky people and those from other places to visit to swim every weekend.

From the kindness..
In 2016, a project named “Korea - Vietnam Community Art Exchange” was launched in Tam Thanh village that the People's Committee of Tam Ky and the Korea Foundation (KF) co-organized and implemented. The project was accomplished by a group of pioneers in both Vietnam and Korea with an aim to turn the poor and less attractive village into a better place which was closer to tourists around Vietnam as well as the world by drawing and painting on the walls of over 100 houses here. After 20 days, the project was finished.
According to Park Kyoung Chul, Chief Representative of the Korea Foundation in Vietnam, the project is an opportunity for exchanges and sharing of artistic ideas, experience in organizing and developing community arts between the two countries. Volunteers want to contribute to change the appearance of the village, promote tourism development, help local people live in the space of real art culture, and raise awareness, responsibility, and pride of the people in their homeland.

..To the picturesque beauty
Once being a poor fishing village, after becoming a fresco village (a popular type in Korea), Tam Thanh set its first foot on the road to conquer many tourists in Tam Ky. With the message "Art for a better community", these artists have turned the old, bumpy, degraded brick walls into colorful paintings. This is the first mural work in Vietnam.
Fences and paths here are decorated with several images and motifs in vibrant colors. Each small road leading to the sea suddenly becomes more romantic and joyful. The life of the people here seems to be more gentle than ever, different from the deep colors of the coastal fishing village in the past.
An image of the rustic life and local people
Tam Thanh fresco village also has many changes compared to the beginning to serve tourists better. Many walls houses were dismantled and newly constructed, or a boat road with impressively decorative boats was set in the open space near the sea, creating an interesting yet very peaceful scene. The beach is near the village which is extremely wild and romantic with white sand, clear water, and cool sea breeze. Therefore, it will be a waste that you go to Tam Thanh without spending time walking and taking picture in the picturesque scenery of the beach.
The pictures about life and people
A famous check-in destination for the young
These wall paintings reflect the real images and the daily life in this fishing village. These are the natural scenes with the coconut trees tilting its shade down Truong Giang river, the boat landing on the sea at sunset, or the characters in the old and degraded houses, and the market in the village, etc. There are also the portraits of local people, from a gentle girl in the “ao dai”, an old fisherman with a wrinkled face, the innocent children flying kite or playing football, to a child gazing out to the sea waiting for his father, etc. Due to these colorful paintings, every corner of the village is suddenly brightened, telling simple and rustic stories in the sea village.
The volunteers in the project said that Trung Thanh was selected to be a fresco village because of the high population density. The adjacent houses here were very easy and convenient to impress and show the alive pictures. The rich paintings include natural landscapes, daily life, the culture of the villagers, and fun cartoon characters for children.
